This summer I’ve had a good time doing some different things with the 12 locally relevant drawings using the Zentangle Method I created for my colouring pages that I put out in 2022. Each animal and faunaI drew has “Galiano Island” hidden amongst the abstract patterns.
This summer I decided to colour them and create products using those coloured images. I recently upgraded my printer to a professional model, and the quality of the printing is quite impressive. As my first project under the name “Galia-Notes”, my new hand made journals and planners venture I’ve started, I am creating an undated 12 month wall calendar using the 12 coloured in local images. Each image is paired with locally relevant information about the animal and has a colour matching calendar grid and space for to do lists and notes.
In addition to these images being created as a colouring book, I created them to do a multitude of projects with them, like this calendar, stationery, make cards that are sold as a set, put them on shirts, tote bags, cosmetic bags, and for things like making prints or having them printed on canvas. Up until that point, I only ever produced original artwork, not prints, and did not get cards or other products printed from them.
I’m on the final stages of my undated wall calendar, and hope to be in production and selling them before September is finished.
I’ve also been having fun putting my images on men’s vintage shirts, toiletries bags, and magnetic photo paper. I’ve got vinyl decal printer paper coming, as well as holographic vinyl decal printer paper, and I’m super excited to get going on those.
Keep a lookout for my post selling the tote bags I’m currently putting my art on! They are turning out really great, and I’m excited to share them with the community.
